WCM contests end
The contests are over. My thoughts of them are mixed but WCM messed up big time.
First of all; for the movie contest, there was martins movie, who had been given green light by the WCM people to use the YMCA song. Now the bullshit part of that, is that they are using the “it is a remix” excuse…which doesn’t work. It doesn’t matter if is a remix or not. You still would have to pay a license to use the song.
It is by law.
In truth, you cannot use 1 second of a cover song without first paying to license it.
The reason alone for why both Pinkhair&baronsoosdon and martin falch was allowed the things they were
was because they stream people to the site because they both wanted to win. This gets WCM revenue, so it is a marketing decision from WCM’s side. The wegames people are doing it right while WCM is not.
They are gonna have judges vote instead of public votes, which is what it should be. It should be judged by skills not on how many friends and people you can lure in to vote for you.
Until people at WCM can do this, I suggest wait to participate in their contests. There be less QQ and more fun for everyone.
